What can I say about an Alpaca that is
only 44 days old that is a male and
try and sell you on him. He is to young
to predict if he is going to be a color
champion he is to young to predict that
he is going to be a great herd sire. We
have had seven males born on our farm
and have sold them all as pet quality
alpacas. I believe that the male plays a
major role in Alpaca Rose future and the
Alpaca business future. We have to breed
to males that are above average. I just
bought a male from Latah Creek in April
of 2008 name LCA Quecha and the reasons
I bought him are 1. Great Bloodlines. 2
The dam has produce Color Champions.
3.He is 1/2 brother to LCA Viho. 4. He
has great Density, Lock, Luster. 5. He
has great Fiber and pencil Lock. (This
was confirmed by the Fleece shows he has
been in.. 6. When I open up his fleece
after a winter in the field their was no
matting and the luster was what every
breeder is breeding for. Zeus has all of
the above mention qualities. Zeus is now
5 months old is looking outstanding. His
conformation and density are above
average and luster is outstanding. I
hope you can get an idea from the
photo's we have posted that he has great
density. See you at AWE and PNAA
